Most of us recognise in order to keep physically fit we need to proactively exercise regularly and we don't wait until we're injured until we start doing so. Why don't we treat our mental wellbeing the same way? Until now there's not been the support or resources. The Pocket Mentor 5 To Thrive provides a proactive daily mental wellbeing workout that takes 10 minutes to complete. This includes:
1. Mindful Moment: A daily breathing exercise
2. Intentional gratitude list

4. Today I... Reflective journaling
5. Value setting.
For every 10 days you complete these, we donate to plant a tree for you.
Back to physical fitness, if we stop exercising our fitness and strength deplete and we become weaker, it's the same too with our mind. That's why you'll find a Set Reminders feature in The Pocket Mentor app, so you can set a notification for each 5 To Thrive tool at a time that suits you to built it into a daily habit to robustly and continuously build your mental strength.
When we're physically injured we don't just keep going, we seek support for the best chance of recovery. Our Mindset Boosts provide this reactive support in the moment of a challenge. Longer answer: Elise here, the founder of The Pocket Mentor. My quest began a few years ago after leaving University. I was lucky enough to get a job in the big wide world but soon found I was unprepared for the challenges of everyday life, from coping when something went wrong at work to motivating myself up in the morning. The more I spoke to others, the more I realised I wasn't alone... So, how was it possible for us to go through 14 odd years of formal education and still come out unprepared for the challenges of the real world?
What was missing? Mental strength and resilience education. Ta dah, The Pocket Mentor was born! I set out to fill this gap in our education and create a toolkit for young people, however... as I researched I noticed that mental strength and mental wellbeing is not only important but crucial for ALL of us... No matter our age, background or role.
We've had teens use it independently, teachers use it with their class, parents use it with their younger children at home, university students, adult professionals, and even my grandma!
No matter which path we choose in life, the greatest tool we have to help us succeed and be happy is our brain, yet we’re never formally taught how it works, how to look after it, or how it works best. The good thing is, it’’s never too early or too late to starting develop mental strength and mental wellbeing habits, no matter our age, background or role.
Whatever our start point, we can always improve - to enable our greatest tool, our brain, to work at it's best and help us thrive.
Plus, download the iOS and Android app so your Pocket Mentor is always with you.
